About Me

I am the owner of Herringbone & Brass, a full service interior design firm in the Boston area. In addition to helping design and decorate beautiful living spaces, my company advises clients who are considering buying or selling a luxury home in the areas of Boston and Miami. I have bought, remodeled and sold multiple luxury properties in these two markets, and I understand the features that make a property attractive both from the seller and the buyer perspective.

Prior to my work in real estate and interior design, I was a scientist (Ph.D. in Genetics from Harvard), a science and healthcare reporter for major publications (see my work here and here), and the co-owner and content editor of a business that organized high-end conferences for CEOs in the biotechnology and pharma industries.

I am currently revising a post-apocalyptic dystopian novel called The Awakenings. It has been an amazing journey, and I could have never done it without support from my Grub Street family, and my fabulous writing group (ZPs I love you!).

I live in the Boston area with my husband, kids (1 in college, 4 at home) and adorable (if not very bright) dog Lulu. Fun fact: we are raising our kids trilingual, as we only speak Spanish (me) and German (husband) at home. I was born and raised in Puerto Rico, and I’m half Colombian. We love our family melting pot. I’m a proud LGBT mom 🌈.
